DMH is creating a space in the city of Houston that will house exhibition, curatorial, educational and research units devoted to the critical exploration of the origins, development and future of design. The Museum will center its attention and resources on the complex relationship between the emergence of design as an artistic, technological and social force in the past one hundred years and the international artistic trends and ideologies of the 20th and 21st centuries that influenced its development and expansion.

DESIGN MUSEUM HOUSTON will explore and disseminate to the public at large the possible directions that vanguard movements in architecture and design will be taking in the future, as well as their relations with specific artistic and intellectual currents of the past.
